Eligibility

Must own the system (not lease). Must have federal tax liability. System must be installed on your primary or secondary US residence.

Federal Battery Storage Tax Credit

Standalone battery storage systems of 3 kWh or larger qualify for the 30% federal tax credit, even without solar. Added by the Inflation Reduction Act.

Eligibility

Battery must be at least 3 kWh capacity. Must be installed at your home. Must own the system.

Federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit

Up to $7,500

Tax credit for purchasing a new qualifying electric vehicle. Amount depends on battery sourcing and manufacturing requirements.

Eligibility

Income limits apply ($150K single / $300K joint). Vehicle MSRP cap ($55K cars / $80K trucks & SUVs). Must be a new qualifying model.

Federal Heat Pump Tax Credit (25C)

Up to $2,000

30% credit on qualified heat pump costs, up to $2,000 per year. Can be claimed annually (not a one-time credit).

Eligibility

Must be an ENERGY STAR certified heat pump. Must be installed in your principal residence. Claimed on IRS Form 5695.

Federal Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Credit (25C)

Up to $1,200/year

30% credit on insulation, windows, doors, and energy audits. Annual limit of $1,200 (separate from the $2,000 heat pump limit).

Eligibility

Applies to principal residence. Products must meet energy efficiency standards. Includes insulation, exterior windows/doors, and qualifying energy audits ($150 limit).
